A Letter to Our Parents About TNReady Testing

Dear Parents,

As you may know, students in Bartlett City Schools and across Tennessee will participate in the upcoming TNReady assessment in April. BCS students in 2nd grade, grades 3 – 8 and those enrolled in high school End of Course subjects will test during the upcoming testing window, which will run from April 18 – May 3, 2017. Students will be assessed using paper booklets and answer documents this year in lieu of testing on computers.

Over the past several years, our state has adopted more rigorous academic standards, and our teachers have been using these standards in their daily instruction. The TNReady assessment has been developed to go hand in hand with the new standards and will provide better information regarding your child’s strengths and weaknesses in language arts, math, science, and social studies.

Beginning this year, TNReady testing has been broken into shorter subparts to better fit the classroom schedules and to increase time for regular instruction and school activities.

You play a very important role in students’ academic success. Please encourage students to…

- Get a good night’s rest.
- Eat a healthy breakfast.
- Arrive at school on time.

Thank you for your continued involvement. Together we can make a difference.
Mrs. Watson, Mr. Baade, Mrs. Royston
