Update: Kids Kan Food Drive to Benefit the Mid South Food Bank

This just in...as of 3/3/17, we have collected over 20,000 cans for the Mid South Food Bank! Way to go, BES! :)

Let’s show MEMPHIS that our BES KIDS CARE!
Ask your friends and relatives to donate to BES KIDS KAN.
This year we will be giving away PRIZES to every student that participates!
5 Cans Bubble Gum Chewing HOUR!
10 Cans Hat Day
15 Cans P.J. Day
20 Cans Popsicle during your LUNCH!
30 Cans Dance Party with Popcorn and Drinks!
We will also be giving away Homework PASSES and EXTRA
RECESS! Each day of Kids Kan the class that brings in the
most cans will earn a special Homework Pass or Extra
Recess! Listen to announcements each day to hear the WINNERS!
We will take cash donations, too. $1 = 3 cans.

Our Own Miss Tennessee Grace Burgess Visits BES During Dr. Seuss Week

Former BES Panther and current Miss Tennessee Grace Burgess visited BES to help celebrate reading as part of our Read Across America Week. Miss Burgess's platform as Miss Tennessee is childhood literacy.
She read to our students, and donated an autographed copy of her favorite book, Shel Silverstein's The Giving Tree, to our library.

Kindergarten Registration for the 2017-18 School Year is Thursday, March 2nd; 5-6:30pm

Come and join us for an exciting preview of Kindergarten at Bartlett Elementary. We invite you to meet our teachers and administrative staff, tour the school and pre-register you child for the 2017-2018 school year. Come out and see all that Bartlett has to offer.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss! Read Across America Week Feb. 27th - March 3rd

Join in our Dr. Seuss fun. If you have a copy of the honored books, bring them to class. We will have daily trivia contests and prizes.
Monday, February 27th - Honored Book: Put Me in the Zoo
Dress like your favorite animal or in your favorite color.
Tuesday, February 28th - Honored Book: Oh, the Places You'll Go
Dress up in clothing from countries around the world.
*We will have Community Leaders visiting to read with us this day.* 
Wednesday, March 1st - Honored Book: Wacky Wednesday 
Dress wacky!
Thursday, March 2nd - Honored Book: Cat in the Hat
Dress in Red and Black, and wear your Cat in the Hat hat!

Love at the Soda Shop! 50's Night! PTO Meeting Feb. 21st @ 6:30pm Featuring K, Pre-K, Ms. Graham & Mrs. Key's Classes

Save the date for the upcoming PTO meeting on Tuesday, February 21st at 6:30 in the gym. The performance will feature the classes of Ms. Graham, Ms. Keys, Ms. Abby, and ALL of Kindergarten! The theme is Love at the Soda Shop which is comprised of music from the 50's and early 60's, so you know what that means... it's dress up time! Be sure to come in your best 50's attire! Traveling Artist Cherri Coleman Visits BES for Arts Integration

Bartlett Elementary students spent last week learning about sundials, creating metallic art and performing original skits for fellow students. The activities were part of a project led by traveling artist Cherri Coleman, who helped the children build confidence and tap into creativity.
