Join BCS at the St. Jude Run/Walk to End Childhood Cancer Sept. 22nd

Dear BES family – I just wanted to let you know about a wonderful opportunity we have to help the children at St Jude. Our school district is trying to raise $10,000 before September 22.
Here are some ways you can help us meet our goal.
There is a website that you can go to with information about a 5k race on September 22. You can sign up and register for the race and or donate. Just be sure you register and join the BARTLETT CITY SCHOOLS TEAM.
Our students will be given an opportunity to donate on August 22, 23 or 24. If your child brings in one dollar or more he or she will turn that money in to their classroom teacher. The teacher will then give them a GOLDEN ticket because GOLD is the color for childhood cancer. Your child will then, take that ticket to some ladies in the front hallway. They will give your child a St. Jude sticker, a piece of bubble gum and your child will be given a heart made of gold construction paper. Your child will write his or her name on the heart and that heart will go on a bulletin board in the front hall. Everyone who has a heart on the bulletin board will be a member of the Heart of Gold Team. This is a great opportunity to teach good lessons on helping others and in so doing, you are demonstrating that you have a heart of gold.
Thanks so much for supporting this great cause and I hope we have a bulletin board covered in Hearts of GOLD!!

By donating to St. Jude you are actively fighting against childhood cancer.

$3- pediatric isolation Mask
$25- rehab weights
$50-platelet transfusion
$75- 1 day of oxygen
$250-chemotheraphy treatment
$500 bone marrow treatment

Thanks for your support!! Coach Fowler

Student Insurance Plans

Our school district has selected the Student Insurance Plan from K&K Insurance Group to make reliable coverage available to you. If you don’t have other insurance, this plan may be a resource to consider. Additionally, even if you have other coverage, this plan can help fill expensive “gaps” caused by deductible and co-pays. Coverage may be purchased at any time during the school year by visiting

BES Summer Fitness Challenge

Aaahhh! Those Lazy Days of Summer! Summer is a fun time to rest
and relax, but we hope you will play outside and be as active as you can! Your body doesn’t need a long break! We would like for you to keep a log of the number of minutes you spend each day exercising. You can ride your bike, jump on a trampoline, play sports, play tag, jog, swim or dance!
Write down what activities you do each day, and the number of “miles” you do. Your goal is to get 100 Miles by the first day of school, August 13th. IF YOU REACH THIS GOAL, you will become a
member of the 100 MILE CLUB!
Those who make the 100 MILE CLUB will enjoy a celebration during school this fall!
Parents will need to verify this activity by signing on the line below. Return this form to us on the first day of school.
