Research shows that young people who learn to say “NO” to harmful drugs are less likely to be associated with crime, delinquency and other destructive behaviors. Partner with us by allowing your children to participate in our theme days as we teach our students to live drug free, healthy lives.
Monday, October 23- My future is BRIGHT and Red Ribbon Kick Off Day. Wear something red today or dress to impress by wearing clothes to show what you want to be when you grow up. Talk with your children about the importance of appropriate school and bus behavior, using good manners and being respectful to their peers and adults.
Tuesday, October 24- Cowboy Up Against Drugs And Give Drugs The Boot. Wear your favorite western clothes, such as jeans, plaid shirts, cowboy hats, cowboy boots, regular boots or gym shoes. Talk about planning a fun activity for your family. Please DO NOT send toy weapons to school today as part of your child’s outfit.
Wednesday, October 25- Team Up Against Drugs. Wear your favorite sports shirt, team jersey or college shirt and jeans. This will be our annual Basketball Shootout Day. Ask your child about what they did at the Basketball Shootout today. Talk about the kinds of things we can do instead of drugs. (Examples: exercise, play a game with family members, watch a movie, read a book, go outside and play).
Thursday, October 26- Say Peace Out To Drugs. Wear your bell bottom jeans or regular jeans and tie dye colors. Talk with your children about the importance of living drug free lives.
Friday, October 27- Say “NO” To Drugs Through The Decades. Dress in appropriate clothes from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s or 90’s. Talk with your children about ways to resolve problems peaceably instead of using violence.
Thank you for your support and participation.
